I don't know if anyone follows my blog anymore, but I have big news to share! TAC has closed its doors making me find a new stamping home! I signed up with A.Muse Studios as an independent consultant. They have unmounted stamps (the indexing is already on the back of the stamp!) and no more cutting. They also have beautiful paper and inks! I will keep you updated when I get my stamps and catalogs!!!

Will be starting up stamp camps again! Hostess Clubs! Will figure what to do about card club, not sure may incorporate it with the Hostess Club!?

The New Puppy- Maddy

Hello all,

It has been a long time since I have updated this blog. I was busy taking care of my Mother before she passed away. The stamping just took a backseat!

We are still getting together on the third Thursday of the month and making cards. We have members sign up and design cards. The members who do not do a card bring something for the pot luck, food, drink or wine!

A good time is had by all! Please email me if you would like more information. I am hoping to have photos to share the cards that we make!

Introducing Stamp Club!!

Hello all,

I have been very busy with my family and work. I have decided to not do stamp camps for a while. The time

commitment is huge!

I am missing all of you and want to plan a stamp club.

This club is FREE! The plan is to have everyone bring a shoebox project to share, those who can't bring a project will

donate money for the club expenses or it will be donated to charity.

Everyone will also need to something to share for refreshments, the club will

supply the paper products. I hope to start a yahoo groups so that we can communicate and

have sign up sheets for who is going to bring what.

The club will be monthly and we can discuss what to do during the summer and holidays etc. I would like the date to be the week that my mom doesn't have chemo. I will donate my house for all the meetings unless someone wants to have it at their house for a month.

Those of you who don't know she was diagnosed around Jan/Feb. She is doing well, but has chemo 3 weeks in a row and then one week off. The week off she feels really good!! So for now that is when I want meet.

The plan for the first meeting is THURSDAY MAY 28. We will schedule around her chemo until she is done and then we will have a regular date like the "last Thursday of the month".

Please let me know if you are interested! I would love to see everyone!!!

November Stamp Camp!!

Hello Stampers,

I have really missed you all! I have been busy with family and work. Things have settled down a little so I have planned a stamp camp. We will be making 5 cards. Dates are Thursday, November 6th (7 to 10 pm) and Saturday, November 8th (12 to 3 pm).

Save the date for Black Friday 2008!! Friday November 28th from 11 am to 9 pm, stamp all you can!!! It is a blast!!!

For those who want to know what has been happening since the last time I blogged, my Dad who has been being treated for Kidney Cancer, ended up in the hospital for emergency surgery to repair his perforated bowel. He spent over 2 weeks in the ICU and then to the regular floor. As a nurse myself I was very involved in his care and did lots of running back and forth and managing his care. He is doing as well as can be expected, working on being able to stand again!
This has been very hard on my Mom, and if she is reading this we need you to take care of yourself so you don't get sick!!!

Recycled Photo Card- Tutorial

I was cleaning my room to get ready for the new 2009 Catalouge and Idea Book from TAC and stumbled on these old photos. This is not a new technique, I did it a few years ago, but with some of my new TAC stamps I had to make a few. Here is how to do it:

Here are the supplies needed: Bad photos or photos that you are ready to throw out. Staz on Black ink, black and white cardstock (the white is for inside the card), stamps and ribbon.

First stamp your images on the photo to cover the photo with black staz on ink and set aside to dry for at least one minute. Stamp sets used were Floral Dingbats and More Elegant Sentiments from TAC.

Do the same for the piece of photo for your greeting. Layer all pieces to complete the card.

Here are some samples, you can use ribbon or cardstock to accent the card.

Prom! I can't believe I am old enough to have a Graduating Senior!

All of the girls! Can you guess which one is my daughter?

Well, this is her! The guy second from the left is her boyfriend Zach. They make a great pair, they are the "Funniest Couple"! (never dull or boring!) Case and point "The Shoes!" To start our story, we have had more rain this spring than we have had in many, many years! The ground is very, very soft!!

Notice the stumble, well it is just that the shoes are stuck in the ground!

See the shoes!!!! She had to step out of them and then pull them out of the ground!
Well they had a wonderful time at Zach's prom. We get to repeat this in 2 weeks when we have Elizabeth's prom. Yes, this was prom number one, lets see what happens with prom number two!

I hope to have some more stamping soon!

Stamp-a-Palooza Damascus Y-Women Fundraiser

This is a fundraiser for the Damascus Y-Women. We will me making cards non-stop from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday April 26th, 2008.
To participate in the class I am asking for a $30 donation to The Damascus Y-Women.

The Damascus Y-Women are a non-profit organization, the money raised will help pay for the Mammogram clinic, the

Y-Women Scholarship program and other Y-Women donations. To find out more about the Y-Women go to www.damascusywomen.com There will be 8 different tables with different cards, the tables will be swapped out with a different card after the supplies are depleted at each table. It should be so.... fun! Other Y-Women are going to be card designers, the Cherry card was designed by our own Pam Gaganti!

Valentines Mini Camp and Open House

Dates: Thursday, Feb. 7th from 5pm until 9pm and Saturday, February 9th from 1pm to 4pm. You may come any time during the stated times and make your projects (like an open house).

We will be making 3 projects, the cost for the class is $10 and includes the NEW 2008 Inspiration Book and Catalogue. Those who register before February 1st will be guaranteed the NEW 2008 Inspiration Book and Catalogue that night. If you register after February 1st you will get the Inspiration book and Catalogue when the orders come in.

Measurements for the nugget tin project

I had a request for the measurements for the nugget tin project.

The project shown here is made with patterned paper. The strips were cut 1" x 3", monoadhesive tape was put on the back and then wrapped around the nugget. The black and white ones were done with return address labels.

The belly band that holds the tin closed was 8-8 1/2" x 1", the circle was punched with the super jumbo punch, and the scallop punch was the mega jumbo punch.

I hope this answers the questions.

Nifty Nugget Tins!

I am getting ready to go out of town and wanted to share something with you before I go! For supplies mentioned in the video you can go to my Angel website and order directly. The tin on the left is made with Frutti Fusion paper and "Oh How" stamp set, and the one on the right is made with address labels and "Love Doodles" stamp set. For complete directions view the video!

A Fun and Quick card to share

The shopping is done, the presents are wrapped and I can't bake another cookie (or eat one I am stuffed!)

I wanted to share with you a really cute and easy card to do. The stamp set that I used is being retired at the end of this month, so if you like it hurry and order it!!

I made this card a long time ago, I had planned on using it on Black Friday, but never got around to it. (This card was stamplifted from splitcoast stampers, and changed a bit) This card uses reversed masking. To start off with you will use you coluzzle and the oval template to cut an oval in a scrap piece of 5 1/2 x 4 1/4" cardstock, making your mask. Lay this on top of your folded white card (finished size 5 1/2 x 4 1/4") and secure with paper clips. Use stamping sponge and virsamagic colors: Red Brick and Persimmon to the edges of the mask. Remove the mask. Stamp the flowers from Love and Joy stamp set with Red Brick pad over the sponged oval. Use jewel tone chalks to accent the flowers, the ink is somewhat wet and the chalk will stick. Then stamp the stems with tea leaves versamagic pad. Stamp greeting with perfect plumeria versamagic pad. Tie ribbon to complete the card.

So fun and easy you will be amazed.

Easy Paper Strip Ornament Tutorial (Video)

Hello Stampers,

Well I am trying to go high-tech! I just recorded a tutorial on how to make these great ornaments! Thanks to my camera man Kyle. Those of you who don't know him, he is my 15 year old son. You may have seen him in some of my work. He is taking some video classes in school and is a big fan of youtube. He was under orders to film the project not me! I think he did a pretty good job!

These were made with 12 (1 x 6") strips of patterned paper. I am going to help make these at my women's group next week. The Damascus Y-Women just love crafts! If you live in the Damascus area their website is www.damascusywomen.com we have lots of fun every week, and their is childcare available.

Hello All!

Well it is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is staring us in the face. They say that the older you get the faster time goes. Well it is speeding by me now, I don't know what I will do as the years go on. It seems like if I blink I will be one of the elderly patients I take care of in the hospital!

Well I am working hard on my family preparations and Black Friday also! Here are a few more of the cards that we will be doing that day. I am also working on translating the 3 x 3" card holder into a card holder for A2 cards. Watch for a tutorial on that soon.

Reminder: If you are attending the Black Friday Class bring a dish to share. I will be having a Chocolate Fountain if you want to bring stuff to dip in to it!

Black Friday is coming!! Get ready!! It is one of the most wonderful days of the year. The date is Friday, November 23rd from 10:00am to 10:00pm. It is a stamp till you drop stamping fiesta!!

Details:

Friday, November 23rd from 10am to 10pm
Cost: $30 cost includes all your supplies. I will have yes glue for you to use, if you prefer a different adhesive please bring it with you (label with your name).
Expect to leave with a huge bag of stamped cards, last year several attendees left with over 100 cards!!
Bring a dish to share, Thanksgiving leftovers are welcome.

Easy Halloween and Thanksgiving Treat Holders!

We ended up doing these treat holders as the 6th project at Stamp Camp! They are so easy, they are made out of COFFEE FILTERS!!!

They are the standard 8-12 cup coffee filters. All you do is flatten them out and stamp on the outside and add your treats.(the trick is not to add too much 5 Hershey kisses or fill the bottom with small candy) Gather up the ends and tie a ribbon around them. Stamp a tag and add it with scrappers floss. I plan on doing these for place cards on Thanksgiving. I have them all stamped and will add the names when I know who is coming. At my house we have between 30-35 for dinner. I come from a large family!!

I am working on the next class. It will be a mini album class. There will be 2 mini albums and a set of 4 mini cards with envelopes and a holder. I will be offering kits for those who don't live in the area which will include a CD with directions and pictures!

I hope that you fall is abundant! I just finished up a full week at the hospital and plan on doing some catching up this week! The weather has been beautiful here in Maryland, hope you are enjoying your fall!!

Stamp Camp September 20th 7pm and September 22nd 12:00 noon

It took me long enough to get my act in gear. I decided to to an easy stamp camp to start the year off on a good foot! The dates are Thursday, September 20th from 7pm to 10pm and Saturday, September 22nd from 12 noon to 3 pm. We will be making 6 cards 5 of them are ready to show you the last will be a surprise!!

Get the word out, if you bring a friend that has not attended stamp camp you get a free gift, so think hard ladies! I will be emailing out the details later today or tomorrow. I have to work tonight, things may be delayed before I get them out!!

Many of these have been stamplifted the fine timbers card was by Shawna Renville, the Halloween was received in a swap as well as the abundance and the purple flower one. They all end up being changed a little!

Samples for Oasis Class in October

These cards are for my Oasis Class in October. It is done with active seniors. I will be posting the stamp camp photos next! Hope all is well with all of you, I am getting over a cold so I am so... behind!!

The horse card was designed by Awna Stark, her blog is on my places to visit. I did add dimentionals to the image to pop it up a bit. She does amazing work! The Purple flower one was designed by Amy Krolling using the love and joy set. I tried to keep them simple we only have 3 hours to complete them. I will be taking the samples on Monday to Oasis so that the students can see them before they sign up. Stamps used card 1 Happy Trails, Card 2 Love and Joy, card 3 Floral Dingbats, card 4 Earth Laughs and Dance Yourself Silly, Card 5 Spring Dream.

Oh I had to show you another cute one!

This What's Moo? card I did for a swap a while ago and came across it today. I thought that you might like it, it is using the Uptown Girl paper from the wing it collection from TAC. The stamp is What's Moo. I thought it was bright and cheery, it is a dismal day here in Maryland. The sun is supposed to come out, but with that comes the heat!

A Quick Hello

I have been busy here with getting the kids ready for school. It starts on Monday! We did a family week doing fun stuff around the DC area. Kings Dominion and Hershey Park were the highlights. I am trying to get my next stamp camp organized!

This card was a quickie with Hoppy Frogs Stamp Set, scraps that I had from the zebra envelopes! The circles are made with the 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches. The paper is MM Blue 2, Just like Dad (wing it collection), White and Navy. I made it for my brother's birthday and it has grow on me, I first thought that it was ok, but now really like it. To my surprise it is the cover card of the week for one of my TAC yahoo groups.

Stay tuned for the September stamp camp dates, we will be making 14 cards!!! The best thing is that they will be great for guys as well as girls. The paper that will be highlighted with the stamp camp is Amelia.

Uptown Girl 3x3" Cards and Envelopes

I had a few minutes last night to go stamp and made these fun cards. The cards are 3x3", I cut them from a 12 x 12" piece of black cardstock. (you get 8 of these cards from one 12 x 12" sheet.) I used scraps of the uptown girl paper for the card. The envelopes were made by using 5x5" sheets of uptown girl paper and using the template in the previous post.

Lay the 4 sheets of 5x5" paper on top of each other and you can cut the notches for the folding for all 4 of them at one time. I use a straight edge and the tip of a bone folder to score the sides scoring from one notch to the next all around making a scored "square" and fold in the sides first then the bottom, securing with a little monoadhesive tape. The final step is to fold the top down. Let me know if you want me to make a tutorial for this.

I did a few of the envelopes with "Just like Dad" wing it paper, they turned out pretty cute! I was able to cut all 4 at one time using the previously posted template!

Wild For You and 3 x 3 envelope template

The UPS man came early today! I just got Wild For You and have had a little time to play with it. The first card (the black and white is origanal) the small 3 x 3" cards are totally CASE'd from www.splitcoaststampers.com. I don't know who did them but they had put googlie eyes on them, I am out of googlie eyes. Stamp sets used on card one Wild for you and Background Squiggles.

Stamps used on card 2: Wild for you and Tag tidbits.
I did design a template to make an envelope for the very popular 3 x 3" cards. I talked to a gentleman at the envelope store here in town, which is closing for good on 7/18, and he said that they don't make envelopes that size. Well we can make our own out of paper! Can you imagine the cute envelopes you can make with the wing it and designer papers!!

Rustic Chic Card

Rustic Chic Card Supplies:
5 ½ x 8 ½, and 2 x 3 ½” Brown Cardstock
1 ¾ x 3 ¼” Aspen cardstock
5 ¼ x 4” Rustic Chic Paper
ivory paper for inside
Friendship Flowers Stamp
Palette Burnt Umber Ink
Watercolor Pencils
Dove Blender Pen

Stamp flower on the aspen cardstock and color in with watercolor pencils and blender pen.4. Layer the rustic chic paper on the folded brown card. Layer the flower piece onto the card. Complete by adding the paper inside.
Sponge edges with burnt umber ink on the flower piece.
Layer the flower on the corresponding brown cardstock.
Add ivory cardstock to the inside to complete the card.

All Things Nature Card

I have had a busy week this week. Just got home and wanted to share something with you. I think this card is simple but elegant. It is a shame that the crackle stamp has been retired, but you could use another background!

Supplies: 5 ½ x 8 ½” kraft cardstock, 2 ½ x 2 ½” ivory cardstock, 2 ¾ x 2 ¾” rust cardstock, 3 ¼ x4 ¼” yellow cardstock. All Things of Nature Stamp Set, Palette Noir, Palette Burnt Umber

1. Stamp bird from the All Things of Nature set on the ivory cardstock and color in with the watercolor pencils and blender pen. Sponge edges with stamping sponges and the yellow and brown ink. Layer on the rust cardstock. Set aside.
2. Crimp the yellow cardstock with the shorter end going into the crimper.
3. Layer the bird piece with glue to the crimped piece justified to the top.
4. Tie ribbon around the bottom of the yellow piece like the sample.
5. Stamp the folded kraft piece with brown ink and the crackle stamp.
6. Layer the completed bird piece to the card to complete the card.

Clip Board Album- Alaska Again!

This album was completed from start to finish in about 2 hours. It took me longer to transfer the photos to Costco. I am learning every day more and more about the computer!

The main piece of this album is the chipboard clipboard (try to say that 3 times fast!) It is from TAC. The paper and the stickers are Bella Flor SWIC (Soar With It Collection). The pages are 6x6 and are scored at 1" from the top so that they will bend when you look through the book.The decorations are made with one 12x 12" sheet of cardstock cut 3" squares and then cut in half. It is called a One Sheet Wonder.

The entire album uses about (5) 12 x 12" sheets of cardstock.

I did use most of the letter stickers, but you could use the Alpha Grunge alphabet or any other alphabet for a similar effect.

Alaska Coaster Album

Do you only have a few minutes to work on your scrapbooking, well mini books are the way to go! This album can be done in less than 1 hour! Can you believe it?

The trick is the new square coasters from TAC. (pg. 108) They are white on one side and black on the other, the corners are rounded. When making this album you can use up all your left over pictures (or duplicates). Measure the coasters and cut your cardstock the same size as the coaster, round your corners and attack with wonder tape. Sand the edges for a distressed look. The pages are 1/4" smaller than the coasters. The holes are done with the drill press and tied.

Getting the image on the back or the unmounted stamp

I have been often asked how do you get the image on the back of your TAC unmounted stamps. Well I am going to take a few minutes and show you the steps, please feel free to share this with your stamping friends! Gather your supplies! You will need a staz on ink pad, stamp cleaner (TAC's gets really gets the staz on off- Love it!!!), stamp cleaner pad and kai scissors (they are the best!)

First put the rubber image on a flat surface and ink it with black staz on ink (palette also works, but takes longer to dry).

Peel off the paper from the cling side of the creative cling (the side that is not sticky). Lay the foam down on the image, I start with the side where the #'s are and then work to the other side. Press down. Peel off the cling to reveal the image. (see the #'s are in the lower right hand corner)

Clean the rubber image with the stamp cleaner and cleaning pad.

Lay the rubber, image side down on your scrap paper, remember where the #'s are so that you can line it up when you put the foam down. Remove the sticky side of the cling and match up your #'s. On the image you can see the #'s in the lower left hand corner. Adhere!

Cut apart your stamps from the rubber side.

Store in your cd case or the stamp case that they came in.

August 4th- Catalogue Open House/Make and Take

The date is set for my Annual Catalogue Open House- Saturday, August 4th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

There will be food, fun, free make and takes, and lots of door prizes! Email me at stampwithgwen@yahoo.com and let me know you will be attending. The Catalogue this year is "Fantastical" here are 12 cool facts about the catalouge:

The Catalogue is now biannual! It is about half the size and not so overwhelming! It still has tons of stamped samples!
There are 8 new paper lines with matching hardware, ribbons and card stock to match! The color combinations are can I say WOW!!
There are matching ink pads for the new paper collections. It is now easy as pie to coordinate with the paper lines.
Over 370 stamp sets with 200 of them under $12!!

Back from Seminar with the new Catty!

Hello All!

I am back from Kansas with the new Fall/Winter 2007 Idea book and Catalogue! All I can say is WOW! It is "Fantastical" (a new word I learned at Seminar)!
